Majed Ali, a legend of Brentham and the Middlesex County Cricket League, joined the exclusive club of men to have scored 6000 MCCL 1st XI league runs this weekend. In the process, he also moved into the top 10 run scorers in the history of the league, dating back to its formation in 1972.

As opening weekends go, the start of the 2026 MCCL season couldn’t have gone much better for the Trees with four of our five Saturday sides recording impressive victories before another friendly win on Sunday. It was also a memorable day for a Brentham, and MCCL legend, as Majed Ali became just the 10th player in league history to go past the 6000 runs mark in 1st XI cricket. Several youngsters came to the fore as well with Under-17 Will Pye taking three crucial wickets on de
